The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported, though, that the NWS confirmed a tornado "was located over Portage" WI in Columbia County around 4:49 p.m. There were also reports of tornadoes in New Richmond, Loyal, Colby, and Juneau, NWS told the Journal Sentinel.
Minneapolis dodged a tornado on Thursday, but St. Louis wasn't as fortunate on Friday. National Weather Service crews have determined that a tornado that spun through western Wisconsin on Thursday was fairly strong, having been given a preliminary EF2 rating.
Storms are expected in the Ohio, Tennessee and Mid-Mississippi valleys, where there are threats of tornadoes, damaging winds and hail. Some flooding is possible.
