The Houston Texans are currently in a bit of a bind with the renovations needed for NRG Stadium, which the team has called home since 2002. The team has hired a new president, Mike Tomon, whose biggest first task is ensuring the team has a home stadium for the foreseeable future.

There are obvious incentives for the Texans to launch a new era in a new stadium. A new stadium would allow Houston to create and sell pricey, en vogue, suites and clubs near the

NRG Stadium, the Texans’ home since their inception, was completed in 2002 and cost $352 million. The stadium and surrounding NRG Park need $2 billion worth of repairs, according to a facility condition assessment released in December.
