A second police shooting in New York City over the course of last weekend is prompting questions about how a man who investigators believe called 911 over concerns of a possible robbery ended up getting shot by responding officers.

Police in the Bronx shot a man who called 911 for help on Sunday evening after they mistook him for a knife-wielding assailant charging at them, authorities said.  According to police officials, the peculiar incident unfolded when a 32-year-old man residing at 335 East 148th St.

A 32-year-old man was shot by an NYPD officer in the Bronx Sunday evening, according to the NYPD. The shooting happened around 5:38 p.m. at 335 East 148th Street. Police say they received a 911 call about a man attempting to steal an air conditioner at the address.
