The Edmonton Oilers fell to the Dallas Stars in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final despite holding a multi-goal lead at one point. Dallas stormed back in the third period, scoring five goals, stunning the Oilers for the win.

The Stars needed special teams to be an advantage. While it wasn’t through 40 minutes in Game 1, it was by the time the clock hit zero.

The Edmonton Oilers dropped Game 1 of the Western Conference Final to the Dallas Stars in heartbreaking fashion. Edmonton collapsed in the game and allowed the Stars to grab a huge win to open the series.

An empty net goal from Esa Lindell technically put this into the blowout category by the end, but who’s counting. It’s a 1-0 Stars lead on the road to the Stanley Cup Final, and the Oilers have 48 hours to figure out how they gave up five goals in one period of a game they thought they already had in hand.
