Donald Trump again claimed he brokered peace between India and Pakistan through trade and diplomacy, despite India rejecting any US role in de-escalating tensions or linking trade to a ceasefire.

China welcomes and supports efforts by Pakistan and India to handle their differences through dialogue and to achieve a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire, China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi said.

The US-brokered ceasefire agreement will not go anywhere near addressing the fundamental grievances fueling the decades-long dispute over the status of Muslim-majority Kashmir.
