The American Red Cross of Georgia said they’re deploying volunteers from the Peach State to California to help with evacuations due to ongoing wildfires on the west coast.

Red Cross teams have staffed seven shelters with more than a thousand people, according to Red Cross Cascades.

The Red Cross of Northern New England is prepping a team of local volunteers to help people in Southern California.

The Red Cross of New Jersey is sending four disaster relief workers to California to help people who are affected by the wildfires in Los Angeles. Some Red Cross volunteers from Pennsylvania are also headed west to help relief efforts.

They will be joining forces with local officials in California to ensure that those affected by the wildfires receive the necessary assistance, including safe shelter, food, emotional support and health services.

The Red Cross from Oregon and Southwest Washington are traveling to Southern California to provide support for those affected by the devastating wildfires, while the Oregon State Fire Marshal and the Oregon Department of Forestry have mobilized strike teams to assist in the relief efforts.

Members of the Red Cross from Oregon and Southwest Washington will fly out of Portland International Airport on Thursday to offer support as members in California set up shelters to assist people who were forced to flee their homes.
