Much of the U.S. is grappling with a record-breaking heatwave. So, how do people stay cool?
Wednesday night features a 30% chance of scattered showers, mostly light, under cloudy skies. Lows drop into the mid-50s, giving the area a rare break from sticky summer nights. Thursday remains mostly cloudy, with a slight warming trend and a high near 75°F. Winds stay light, shifting from northeast to southeast.
The Heat responded to an 0-2 start in Las Vegas with a 100-96 win over the Boston Celtics’ summer squad on Monday at the Pavilion on UNLV’s campus. The Heat found itself trailing by four points with 1:53 to play, but closed the game on a 13-5 run to rally for the victory.
Samsung notes that "access to certain features/functions may temporarily freeze as a means to protect the device" when it crosses heat thresholds. On the iPhone, Apple said the device will make several adjustments, including slower charging, dimmer displays, and the flashlight and flash for photos are disabled.
Experts say early mornings or late evenings are the safest times for pets to be outdoors. And no matter the time of day, hydration and shade are key to keeping pets healthy in the heat. Caution with taking pets outdoors can keep furry friend out of harm’s way.
The month of June was one of the most humid on record in West Michigan. The near-saturated air not only sent swarms of people to local beaches, but also swarms of bugs into local houses.
