The major differences are in the physical dimensions of the 1885 Low Wall (actually a "Medium Wall"), and the automatic ejector or extractor. The Low Walls use an extractor to reduce weight.

But for a stock gun, the Winchester 1885 ( Browning made in Japan) is possibly the best off-the-rack under $1000 gun out there today. Spend a little money and time and you can take to the 1000 yd ranges in no time.

Jan 26, 2014 · Have the one Winchester 1885 in 22 rimfire,it is now 22 mag. One good shooter!Then there is the 1885 Browning in 22 Hornet. It is pretty close to my very favorite groundhog gun. It is a 3/8" gun at 100yds. The last is the Browning 1885 in 22-250.Haven't really spent the development time I should give it.

Jan 11, 2025 · Only Browning up-dated the 725 triggers after about 18 months!!! I believe Browning called it the Fire-Lite 2 trigger just a couple of years ago??? Now I see zero reference to the Fire-Lite 2 trigger on the 725. So like I mentioned before. The jury is still out on the new 825 triggers??? I really like the triggers on my Browning 525.

Jan 15, 2025 · Shot with a newer shooter today. He's been shooting for about a year now. He just bought the new Pro-Sporter 825. What a beautiful shotgun. A Real Nice Engraving Pattern, and grade III/IV Wood & adj. Comb to boot. It too also has the non-ported barrels. Looks like a real Winner to me!!! Nicest Looking shotgun Browning has made since the 525 IMO.

Oct 30, 2024 · I would suggest NOT using the DS chokes that come with the gun. Both Phil Kiner and my browning authorized service center the specs were way off. I spoke with browning and they had just come out with the “clay burner” chokes. Bought 4. Tighter pattern and my scores improved. I sent browning photos of the pattern board with ds and the clay ...

Sep 28, 2024 · today I stopped at the local gun shop & found the Browning rep getting ready to leave. he had the new 825 sporting model with him. I was able to handle it & must say I really like it. with a silver receiver , 30" barrels with a matte finish, low rib, nice wood with a matte finish ( no adjustable comb but the adj comb is offered ) and a slim forend.
