Falcon Heavy’s first stage incorporates 27 Merlin engines across three aluminum-lithium alloy rocket cores containing liquid oxygen and rocket-grade kerosene (RP-1) propellant. Falcon Heavy generates more than 5 million pounds of thrust at liftoff.
With the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy launch vehicles, SpaceX is able to offer a full spectrum of medium- and heavy-lift launch capabilities to its customers (Figure 1-1), as well as small and micro satellite launch capabilities via its Rideshare Program.
