Jul 14, 2011 · I know I can find a whole page of handwriting lines on the internet...but I want to make an area for the students to draw with only ONE line under the drawing box. How do you do this? During our monster unit, I want the students to draw a monster and label their drawing by giving it a name.

Mar 26, 2008 · Trace in sand... trace the letter forms with wikki stix or playdough or even pipe cleaners... before most kids are ready to write letters, it helps if they can trace and draw simple lines... vertical, horizontal, crosses, circles, sppirals, waves... I would start there.

Nov 6, 2006 · I made sure to hit handwriting hard in K because a lot is expected of them at the beginning of 1st (the 1st grade teachers asked us to work harder on it). I wanted them to be successful. However, the other K teacher doesn't believe in making the kids write on lines and HATES D'Nealian which is what our district uses.

Oct 29, 2005 · I actually took a 3 month course in college too (required by the ed. dept. but sent off to Zaner-Bloser). My kids, who are in 2nd grade, do a handwriting page every day. Monday-Thursday are half sheets, and Friday is a full sheet (which also is a great direction sheet). I use the Evan-Moor's Daily Handwriting Practice:Traditional Manuscript book.
